Stafford Borough Council's Corporate Plan for 2025-28 sets out our vision to be an effective Council that promotes a growing economy, strong, healthy communities and a sustainable environment.

This plan provides a framework for the Council's actions and priorities for the next three years.

Thank you to everyone who gave us feedback on the draft plan. The final version of the plan is now available (pdf 171kb), but here is a brief summary of our priorities.

Prosperous Economy

We want to develop vibrant town centres, have a workforce with the necessary skills for the employment needs of our borough, and support the delivery of key regeneration schemes. We will promote the borough to attract investment and help local existing businesses thrive.

Communities and Wellbeing

Prioritising communities and wellbeing, we want to ensure a safe and secure place to live, with opportunities for healthy lifestyles and a reduction in health inequalities. This will be achieved by working towards reducing homelessness, reviewing leisure and culture provision, and agreeing a community wellbeing strategy.

Climate Change, Nature Recovery and the Environment

The Council is committed to enhancing the environment by reducing its carbon footprint. Key steps include the implementation of our new Climate Change Strategy, promoting biodiversity, supporting nature recovery work, and improvements in parks and open spaces.

Effective Council

Being an effective Council is crucial for meeting the needs of the local community, providing value for money, and ensuring good governance.
