Under the Homeless Reduction Act 2017, there is now a duty placed on certain public authorities to refer those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness to a local housing authority in England.
Before making a referral please ensure the following:
- you have the consent of the individual to make the referral
- you have allowed the individual to choose the housing authority in England that they would like the referral to be made to
- you have consent from the individual to share their contact details to the housing authority so that they can be contacted regarding their referral
