Do You Recycle All You Can?

Thank you for making Stafford Borough’s recycling scheme so successful again this year, your continuing support is greatly appreciated.

For further guidance please visit Recycling and Waste - Know Your Bins.

Recycling with your Blue Bin and Blue Bag

Don’t forget that extra cardboard can be taken from beside your blue bin or blue bag. Please ensure that cardboard is broken down to the size of the blue bag and secured - either contained within an un-collapsed box (similar size to the blue bag) or tied together.

Oversized cardboard cannot be taken from beside the blue bin or blue bag and should be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres at St Albans Road in Stafford or Beacon Road in Stone. In all cases, please ensure that there is no non-cardboard packaging left inside the cardboard e.g. polystyrene or packing materials.

We cannot recycle wrapping paper. Please place wrapping paper that you do not intend to reuse in your green bin. The waste in your green bin is burned to generate electricity for the National Grid. More information about where the contents of your bins go.

Recycling with your Brown Bin

The brown bin service is a subscription service and your brown bin will not be emptied unless you have signed up and are displaying the correct brown bin permit on your bin.

Please ensure that only compostable garden waste and real Christmas trees, that are cut into small pieces, are placed in the brown bin. Your bin(s) will not be emptied if they contain unsuitable material.

You can now sign up or renew your brown bin permits for 2025.
