Reducing energy consumption and waste

With the financial pressure on business to cut costs and look for savings in 2025, we have put together some ideas as to why your business should reduce consumption and become more energy efficient.

  • Energy efficient buildings have lower energy costs and finding more energy efficient processes reduces energy costs
  • Improve reputation and attract more clients, tenders and contracts by operating a ‘greener’ organisation
  • Reductions in waste can lead to a reduction in waste disposal costs
  • Better, more efficient transport and logistics planning can lead to reduced fuel costs as well as reduced labour costs
  • Investors are becoming more interested in sustainable companies and stock prices often increase when organisations become more energy efficient and sustainable

The Climate Change Levy (CCL) (gov.uk) is a UK tax provides an incentive for organisations to be more energy efficient and reduce carbon emissions.

The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (gov.uk) is a mandatory energy assessment scheme for large organisations which requires organisations to assess their energy scheme every four years.

Green Solutions (SCC) in affiliation with the Business Energy Advice Service (BEAS) is a programme that offers support to businesses to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
