We may be able to offer you an interest free loan to carry out essential repairs or improvements to your home in the following circumstances:-
- You own and live in your home or you are a tenant with responsibility for repairs
- You have lived in your home continuously for the last 12 months
- You are in receipt of a qualifying benefit
- You are not in receipt of a qualifying benefit but are assessed as being unable to raise a loan from a high street lender following a means test by the Council
- The works requested are necessary to protect the health, safety and welfare of the occupiers
- You are not able to raise the funds to carry out the works from other recognised and reputable sources such as the Green Deal
There are 2 types of loan available depending on your circumstances:-
- An interest free monthly repayment loan of up to £3,000
- An interest free secured loan of up to £5,000 with no monthly repayments which is repaid when your home is sold

- Industrial injuries disablement benefit
- War disablement pension
- Child tax credit (Income of less than £16,040)
- Working tax credit (Income of less than £16,040)
- Guaranteed Pension Credit
- Local Council Tax Reduction
