Councillor Frank James 2024 - 2025
Frank was born in Ranton at The Black and White Cottage, eldest son of Betty and Douglas James. He has a sister and younger brother.
Frank is blessed with four children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He attended Ranton and Eccleshall schools.
Councillor James started work at Haughton Post Office covering many areas, Bradley, Ranton etc. before moving to the Stafford delivery office covering many villages over 49 years, including Seighford, Great Bridgeford, Stowe by Chartley to name only a few. He became the Union Rep in Stafford Office and the Area Rep covering North West Midlands.
Frank has served as school governor of Cooper Perry, Ranton, Tillington and Graham Balfour schools.
During the last few years he has been Chairman of Headway - a charity devoted to aiding the rehabilitation of people who have an acquired brain injury, White Cross Dominoes League, Stafford Post Office Sports and Social Club, Stafford Bowls Club, Staffordshire County Bowling Association and is currently National Crown Green Bowling President for 2024.
Frank served as a Borough Councillor alongside Gill Cox for the Seighford Ward for over 20 years and was elected to the Holmcroft ward in May 2023.
He will be raising money for Katharine House Hospice, The Owl Experience Rescue Sanctuary (Haughton), Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre (Eccleshall) and various local sports clubs during his Civic year.
He said: “Thank you to everyone who supported me in receiving this great honour to be Mayor of Stafford Borough. My family and I are looking forward to the next 12 months, supporting and visiting many areas, residents, charities, organisations and businesses in our borough.”
Mayoress - Mrs Sara Peters
Sara was born in Stafford, has two sons, Lee and Ben, daughters-in-law Laura and Leslie and adorable grandchildren Ayla-May and Reggie.
After leaving school Sara attended Stafford College and has since lived and worked abroad - but is happy to be back in her home town. Sara is delighted to support her father in his role as Mayor.
A huge fan of walking and the countryside, she loves reading, especially about well-being and mindfulness, cooking and interior decorating.
