The Green Solutions Programme has been designed to help businesses reduce their carbon footprint, increase energy efficiency, and make cost savings.
In collaboration with Stafford Borough Council, the Green Solutions Programme is being delivered by Staffordshire County Council across Stafford Borough, thanks to funding from the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the County Council.
Three Key Elements of Support
Carbon Literacy Training
Eight hours of free training to provide relevant climate change learning, that will provide businesses with the knowledge and skills to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
This training is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project and will mean individuals who complete the course will receive a certificate and the status of being carbon literate.
Energy Efficiency Reviews
Free specialist reviews to help provide businesses with actions to increase energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption, as well as make predictions on annual cost savings and reductions of CO2 emissions.
Grants
Up to 50% of project costs, to help businesses implement the recommendations identified in the energy efficiency review.
Grants cannot be paid for retrospectively.
Eligible expenditure could include an upgrade to LED lighting, a replacement boiler or an upgrade to energy efficiency equipment.
Who Can Apply
Eligibility Criteria for Energy Efficiency Reviews and Grants
- For businesses with trading premises within Stafford Borough local authority area. Tenants must have at least 2 years remaining on their lease
- Be registered at Companies House
- Have been trading for at least 12 months and be economically active
- Have used more than 45,000 kWh of energy in the last 12 months. Energy bills will be required to evidence this
- Have not received more than £315,000 in public subsidies in the current and previous two financial years
Carbon Literacy Training is open to any business based in Stafford Borough regardless of business type and energy consumption levels.
Publically funded enterprises such as schools, hospitals, doctors or any businesses with no economic activity are not eligible to apply.
This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (GOV.UK) and by Staffordshire County Council.
