Election Results from Stafford

5342_Election_Results_from_StaffordStafford welcomed in new County Councillors following the results of the elections last week.

The elections took place on Thursday (4 May) and there were nine seats available for the nine Stafford divisions on the County Council.

There was also a by-election for two vacant seats on the Highfields and Western Downs ward of the Borough Council. Those seats were won by Conservative candidates, Vicky Jenkinson and William Taylor, following a turnout of just over 28% of the electorate in the area.

The overall turnout for the Stafford divisions in the County Council was 33.86%. Stafford Borough now has seven Conservatives, with Labour and Independent having one Councillor each, on the County Council.

The count took place at Stafford Leisure Centre on Friday (5 May).
