5378_Art_Fest_to_put_on_BollyGood_showStafford will be awash with sound and colour next weekend when the annual Arts Festival returns to the town.

A packed programme of events is on offer throughout Saturday (16 September) with local, national and international performers bringing their talent to the county town.

Organisers say live music and dance, with many other activities for children and families, will bring thousands in to the town centre for the seventh year of the event.

Highlights include Bollywood style dancers and Art Brasil – bringing Brazilian dance and music to the Market Square while Stafford Operatic Society will be performing songs from their forthcoming musical ‘Sister Act.’

The festival is organised by the Borough Council and Town Centre Partnership and will get going from 10am on Saturday.

The Square will play host to many of the performances with other venues around town such as the Guildhall Shopping Centre, Ancient High House and Indoor Market also hosting entertainment and workshops.

Councillor Frances Beatty, Cabinet Member for Planning and Regeneration at the Council said: “The festival provides a great draw for thousands of people who come in to the town to enjoy a vast array of entertainment. It is a wonderful day full of colour and music – and there really is something for everyone.

“It is an excellent opportunity for artists to showcase their talents, for residents and visitors to enjoy a day out, and for our county town to shine.”
