Homelessness - I Have or Will Have Nowhere to Live

Finding yourself with nowhere to live can be a worrying and stressful time, especially if you have young children, are pregnant or do not have much money.  We want to help you by preventing you from becoming homeless whenever possible. It is important that you come and see us or contact us as soon as possible.

If you need to contact us outside of our office hours, please phone our emergency out of hours number on 01785 619170 where one of our Housing Options Team Officers will be able to help you.

If you are worried that you may lose your home or have been asked to leave by a family member, friend or landlord you should contact our offices to arrange an appointment to see one of our Housing Options Officers. The appointment lasts approximately one hour and you will be asked to bring proof of income, proof of identification and all relevant documents relating to your housing situation, for example, notice from your landlord. You can download our appointment booklet which will help you identify what you need to bring to the appointment.

After the appointment you will be issued with a personalised housing plan that will outline steps that both you and the Council will need to take to improve your housing situation.

People who are rough sleeping that night will not require an appointment.
