2015 Staffordshire Alliance - rail improvementsThe £250 million programme of rail improvements will bring passengers and freight a faster, more reliable railway, with:

  • two extra trains per hour (off
    peak, each direction) between London and the north west of England
  • one extra fast train per hour
    (each direction) between
    Manchester and Birmingham
  • one extra freight train per hour

2015 Derrington Way AheadAnother busy year with the 6th local food festival being held last September, 'Nest Box Day' held in February and new Tawny Owl and Barn Owl Boxes erected during March.  In April 'Go Wild on the Millennium Green' event took place. In addition to these there are ongoing projects which include: the Health Walk, Wi-fi Cafe, recycling at the village hall and social club, maintaining trail signs and village entry signs along with mowing
and keeping the website up to date.

2015 Stafford Borough CouncilThe Council has achieved a good recycling rate, due to effective communications and provision of a kerbside 3 wheeled bin collection service. 

A new campaign began which included constructing a full size bathroom in Stafford Market Square to show that lots of bathroom products can be recycled and a new Reward Scheme in which one
address per month is picked at random
and a £60 reward is given if the Green
Bin is free of recyclables.

2015 - Church Eaton Endowed (VA) Primary SchoolThe school has worked hard to create an outdoor area where children can learn to grow fruit and vegetables.  The produce is then taken to the school kitchen, where children learn different ways to use their fresh produce.
