Can I get help and advice completing the form?

Do you accept CV’s?

No, unfortunately we do not accept CV’s as we believe all of our applications should be viewed equally on our application form – so please do not send your CV with your application form – as it will not be used in the short listing process.

What can I do if I have problems applying for vacancies?

Please send an e-mail to humanresources@staffordbc.gov.uk outlining the problem together with your contact details, one of our team will endeavour to contact you as soon as possible.

Applying with a disability

What are your deadlines / closing dates for application forms?

Our deadlines differ for each recruitment campaign, the closing date will be stated clearly each advert.  However, if you require any clarification please e-mail humanresources@staffordbc.gov.uk.

How will I know if my application has been received?

Should you require an acknowledgement, please provide an e-mail address or enclose a stamped addressed envelope with your completed application.  If you do not hear from us within 28 days of the closing date you should assume that you application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.

How do I find out whether or not my application has been successful?

We aim (but we can’t always guarantee) to contact applicants who have been successful at the short-listing stage within two weeks of the closing date specified on the advert.   Successful candidates may be contacted by telephone, e-mail or though the post – so keep an eye out! Due to the volume of applications we receive we are not able to contact unsuccessful applicants. 

How long does the recruitment process take?

We aim to let successful candidates know they have been selected for interview within two weeks of the closing date.  We aim (but cant always guarantee) to give interviewee’s at least 1 weeks’ notice before interview so they are able to prepare.

If I am rejected can I apply again?

If you are rejected for a vacancy at either the shortlisting or interview stage it does not mean you can’t apply for a vacancy again (unless stated on the advert).  However, we would advise that you take on board any feedback you have received on a previous application or interview before applying for the role.
